ESSENTIAL BABY FOOD - NEWBORN TO 5 YEARS OLD CHILDREN
Today I am going to try to inform you on some important topic that is Essential Baby Food from Newborn To 5 Years Old Children. In this topic we cover a variety of essential baby food, and at which stage it's given to the baby. New mothers are very emotional and take care of every single thing about their baby. Your baby's food is a very important matter and should not be neglected.
I have taken this topic seriously, I have read the report of UNICEF and noticed that children under five years of age do not get healthy food. 18.1 crore children in the world are malnourished i.e. every fourth child in the world is malnourished. In this, India ranks second. What a shame! The main reason behind this is poverty. Most of the children are malnourished because they do not get proper essential baby food. But then how are the children of the rich also malnourished? How did this happen?

It means that what we are giving to our children needs to be carefully tested. There is no any meaning of just filling the stomach of the baby?
- From Newborn to 6 months
For the first six months, your baby’s nutritional needs are completed from breastfeeding only.
Breastfeeding: According to WHO guidelines mothers milk is very important for the first 6 months of baby. If somehow the mother is not able to do breastfeed then formulated milk is provided to the baby in accordance with the health care provider or doctor.
Formulated milk is given to the baby with care because it has some small measurements. Like one scoop of powder with 30 ml of water, after some time its quantity increases. This formulated milk is given after 2-3 hours for newborns.
- From 6 to 8 Months
After 6 months all mothers are worried about baby food with lots of questions like what should start with food, how to start and how many times. Around six months, most babies are ready to start solids.
Starting food: Start with single-grain cereals like rice water. Initially, star giving the baby one food for one to two days and observe the baby carefully to see if the baby is allergic to that food or not. If not, then slowly start giving other new foods.
- 8 to 12 Months: semisolid to solid food
In this phase you have to start with Varity of foods like cereals and rice, mashed potato, softly cooked vegetables like spinach, Colliflower etc. When you started this new food, you have to continue one food for 3 days to observe any allergic reactions to baby. When baby food changes its color of poo, timing of poo get change so don't worry about it. If you have any daut then concern with your baby doctor.
- 1 to 2 Years: Introduce to Family Foods
In this period your child starts to eat the same as your family eats. Your baby's diet should mainly consist of vegetables, fruits, grains, proteins and good fats. Cut food into small, manageable pieces. There is a chance of chocking. Self-feeding is more important in this phase. Baby gets started to develop its motor nervous system. You should encourage them to eat themselves.
- 2 to 5 Years: Establishing Healthy Eating Habits
As your child grows up you have to avoid sugary foods like chocolates, toffee, biscuits because toddlers have small stomachs and every time you give them that type of snacks which is not good sign for child result in children avoids food. Whenever possible eat together as a family at that time atmosphere of the house should be happy and baby enjoy the food.
